The Roses

Roses are my absolute favorite flower. Call me traditional, but those blooms are just the most beautiful. I have around 18 rose bushes in my yard. I am working on getting a few of the Old English Roses to add to my garden since I don't have any at all. This pic is from David Austen site it is of the Winchester Cathedral Rose.

Back to the topic at hand, I bought this old book of rose patterns and have been working on a few of the quick to stitch.

The one was for the Secret Sister Key chain.

I also made this, a double sided small bag that I fully intend to turn into a sachet as soon as I figure out exactly how to go about it and find the lavender to fill it. Roses outside, lavender inside, screwy I know, but it works. I managed to find some Lavender charts to make legitimate sachets at some point in the future.

My daughter has decided she absolutely must have a rose. She picked a small pattern of a pink shrub rose. I am currently working on that. I am going to write something around it, maybe the kind of rose or her name, I'll think of something.

  1. I love roses too, Malinda. I am looking forward to watching this project come together. I recently got a rose bouquet in a vase pattern that I am going to do for my DIL. The two of you are probably close in age. You may be a year or so older. Not sure. I hope to have this project done for her by her birthday (August 30).

  2. I love roses, too! I only have one rose bush in my yard, though. It's pink and gives the prettiest blooms.

    Looking forward to your finish.

    1. Oh how sad. I have one that belonged to my Grandmother. It has moved with my mom and I to 4 different locations since she passed. It is still thriving.

  4. I love roses too, just wish I had a green thumb. Guess I will just stick to stitching them. Your piece is beautiful.
